26 match officials for the T20 World Cup 2024 revealed by ICC
The International Cricket Council has released a list of 20 umpires and six match referees who will officiate the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
The list of umpires includes last year’s winner of the David Shepherd Trophy of the ICC Umpire of the Year award, Richard Illingworth as well and Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney, and Paul Reiffel all of whom are elite umpires and featured in the final of the last edition of the tournament in 2022 between England and Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)
The list of referees includes Ranjan Madgualle, who also featured in the 2022 final along with the most experienced referee of the T20 format, Jeff Crowe.
Crowe holds the record of acting as a referee in most T20Is (175 matches).

The referee’s team also has Andrew Pycroft who is just one match away from achieving the milestone of 150 T20Is as a referee.
It is the first time in the T20 World Cup’s history that a total of 20 teams are participating in the tournament.
ICC General Manager, Wasim Khan was pleased to announce the tournament’s team of match referees and umpires for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
He applauded the experienced referees and umpires saying that they have the match officials who have been recognized for their strong and consistent performances.
He also validated the upcoming World Cup as historic and said that with 20 teams and 55 matches, this will be the biggest World Cup ever and they are proud of the team they have assembled. He added that they are confident that the officials will perform strongly and we wish them and the teams all the best of luck for what is to become a very exciting tournament.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to be hosted by the USA and the West Indies from June 1 and will go on for the next 28 days.
