Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi achieves a significant record

Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has achieved an outstanding milestone during the second T20I against Ireland on May 12th in Clontarf, Dublin.

The pacer has completed 300 wickets in international cricket. He achieved the feat after dismissing Irish skipper Paul Stirling.

Shaheen has taken these wickets in 145 matches of which 113 wickets are in Test cricket, 104 in ODI cricket, and 84 in T20I cricket.

At 24 years and 36 days old of age, Shaheen is also the fifth youngest bowler to 300 international wickets.

The youngest bowler to 300 wickets is another Pakistani player and he was the great Waqar Younis at 22 years and 117 days.

Younis is followed by Pakistani spinner, Saqlain Mushtaq who was 22 years and 164 days when he achieved the milestone.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan comes next and he was 23 years and 265 days old.

The list continues with 23 years and 285 days old South African pacer, Kagiso Rabada.

Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam also became the most successful captain in T20I history after Pakistan won the 45th T20I under his charge. It was in the same match that Afridi took his 300th wicket.

The milestones are flowing in for the Pakistani superstars with the T20 World Cup just a few weeks away starting on June 1st in the USA and West Indies.

The team will also play one more T20I against Ireland on May 14th then they will fly to England for a four-match T20I series against England. Then the team will be off to the T20 World Cup.
