Timberwolves’ Mike Conley Sidelined with Achilles Injury for Game 5
During a key game against the Denver Nuggets, the Minnesota Timberwolves had to play without experienced guard Mike Conley, as he missed Game 5 because of a hurt right Achilles. The Timberwolves keenly felt Conley’s missing presence in their loss to the Nuggets, who took a 3-2 series lead in the Western Conference semifinals with a 112-97 win.
Conley sustained the injury on the last offensive play of Game 4 when he tried a three-point shot that ended up being a miss. Despite trying hard, the Timberwolves were unable to clinch the victory in Game 4, resulting in Conley missing Game 5 due to Achilles discomfort.

During the playoffs, Mike Conley has played a crucial role for the Timberwolves, scoring an average of 11.3 points and providing seven assists per game, all while playing a significant amount of minutes on the court. The fact that he wasn’t there created a big problem for Minnesota, leading to changes in their roster and playing order.
In Conley’s nonattendance, Nickeil Alexander-Walker filled in as a starter and produced an impressive performance, scoring 15 points, grabbing two rebounds, and dishing out five assists in 39 minutes of play. Even with Alexander-Walker trying his best, the Timberwolves were unable to defeat the Nuggets who put on a solid performance, ultimately losing in Game 5.
