Srilanka Announce the World Cup Squad 2023 Without Their Key All-Rounder
SriLanka announce the World Cup Squad 2023 without their key all-rounder, Wanindu Hasaranga, as the official announcement of the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 has been made. This highly anticipated tournament is scheduled on the 5th of October.
Srilanka will be a tour without Hasrangha and Chameera. Sri Lanka announced the World Cup squad but unfortunately, their key players Hasrangha and Chameera are not included in the squad. they were injured in the Lanka Premier League.
Dashun Shanaka remains as a skipper of the Sri Lanka in the World Cup. There were reports that Shanaka might have been removed from the post of skipper. Dashun Shanaka, whose role as captain has been subject to considerable speculation over the past few weeks.
The rest of the 15- members’ squad have formed up as expected the only changes in the side that the inclusion of Dilshan Madhushanka and Lahiru Kumara are back in the World Cup squad after missing the Asia Cup 2023.
Warindu Hasrangha suffered an unfortunate hamstring injury sustained during the Eliminator game held between B-Love Kandy and Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League. Besides Hasrangha Dushmantha Chameera has also been ruled out of the World Cup 2023 In India. He failed to recover from his shoulder injury, Both were then ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023 last month.
