Sri Lanka’s Legend Cricket League’s team manager has been indicted for match-fixing.
Yoni Patel had been accused by former New Zealand cricketer Neil Broom and Sri Lankan cricketer Upal Tharanga. Broom represents the team Punjab Royals and Tharanga represents the Kandy Samp Army team. The two players have confessed that Patel had forced match-fixing deals on them.
Yoni Patel is a team manager in the Legend Cricket League. According to investigative reports, certain match-fixers had approached players to underperform to fix the results for matches.
The Colombo Magistrate has instigated a travel ban on Patel and a league player P. Akash restricting them on Sri Lankan soil.

The Colombian Magistrate has also informed that a criminal trial has already been filed.
The league consists of retired cricketers from England, Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and the West Indies as a way to celebrate the greats of the game.
The league was held from March 8 to 19 at the Palekelle International Cricket Stadium.
The Sri Lanka Cricket, the governing cricket body of Sri Lanka, was not involved in the league directly but had only provided the venue for it.
