Shaheen Afridi Pulling Out of The Hundred 2024
The pacer was retained by Welsh Fire for this edition
Shaheen Afridi has chosen to withdraw from this year’s The Hundred League, the Telegraph reported.
Shaheen Afridi plays for the team Welsh Fire and they had retained him for £100,000 category due to his splendid performance in the 2023 season of the event though he only played six matches.
It is also being reported that he is potentially in discussions with the Global T20 Canada league for a signing in the leagues’ franchises.
It could be possible that Afridi opted out of the Hundred to participate in the Global T20 Canada league as the league overlaps with the Hundred and the Canadian league is of shorter duration.

Though these are just speculations as nothing has been confirmed by Afridi himself or the Global T20 Canada league.
The Welsh Fire is estimated to announce a replacement pacer sooner than expected as the league is scheduled for this year from July 23 to August 18.
As for Shaheen Shah Afridi, the star pacer was recently on a tour of England for a four-match T20I series with the Pakistan cricket team which they lost by 2-0 as the first and the third match washed out due to rain.
The team is expected to fly to the USA on May 31 for their first match against the USA on June 6.
