Scotland announce squad for the tri-series to be played in Netherlands
Scotland Cricket has announced a 14-member squad for a tri-series to be played with Netherlands and Ireland as a preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024.
The series is scheduled to be played in Amstelveen, Netherlands from May 18th to May 24th.
Richie Berrington will captain the Scottish team and except for two players that were in the squad for the series against UAE, the squad is the same.
The two players who won’t be joining Scotland are Andrew Umeed and James Dickinson.

Umeed was injured during the UAE series and was replaced by Charlie Tear, an exceptional batter from the Under-19 team.
Dickinson debuted in the UAE series and only played one match.
Scotland was exceptional against UAE and bounced back after losing the first match by 8 wickets and won two back-to-back games and sealed the series in their favor by 2-1.
Scotland T20I squad:
Richie Berrington (c), Matthew Cross, Brad Currie, Chris Greaves, Oli Hairs, Jack Jarvis, Michael Leask, Gavin Main, Brandon McMullen, George Munsey, Safyaan Sharif, Chris Sole, Charlie Tear, Mark Watt.
Moreover, all three teams participating in the tri-series will also play ICC’s T20i World Cup in June.
Scotland will play their first match against England on June 6th at the Kensington Oval Barbados in the Caribbean.
Also, all of the teams participating have to announce their preliminary squad by May 1st and no changes due to unforeseen circumstances in the squad are going to be allowed after May 25th.
The T20 World Cup 2024 is set to start on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies. This is the first time a major ICC event is going to be hosted in the USA. Meanwhile, this is the second T20 World Cup hosted in the Caribbean.
