Sarah Glenn of England says competitiveness is good for England before the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

The England Women’s Cricket Team will take on Pakistan on May 11th and the Women’s T20 World Cup  2024 in Bangladesh will follow six months later.

Sarah Glenn is adamant that the competition for spots is rising every day. She has said that the regional cricket of England had been doing amazing and the players of the system are often left out of the national squad, it still feels that they are part of the team and they could replace any one of them at any minute.

She added that no one wants to be dropped from the squad but it is still good to have competitiveness in the game as it makes a cricketer work hard on their game and performance and working hard always gives positive signs for everyone involved.

It is no doubt that Glenn’s place in the squad looks strong for now with Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean posing as a strong trio in the team. All three are currently ranked in the top six in the ICC T20I rankings.

The coach of the team, Jon Lewis has described the trio as “the envy of the world” but Glenn along with Linsey Smith knows that there are other players worthy of playing in the national team.

She said that they are a quite strong trio but anyone can be swapped anytime and that they have seen so many spinners in the regional circuit perform consistently and that makes them work harder to keep their place safe.

She added that the trio could seem invincible at the time but they know that they have to keep performing to keep their spot.
