Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan’s team director, will now also be the head coach for the upcoming games against Australia and New Zealand, according to Cricinfo.

After Babar Azam stepped down as captain due to the World Cup disappointment, changes happened in the cricket board. Hafeez will handle both roles during the tours: three Test matches in Australia and five T20Is in New Zealand from December to January.

Even though Hafeez hasn’t coached before, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) thinks both roles are similar. Earlier, the team director’s role was empty until this year. Mickey Arthur was appointed remotely by the former PCB chairman, but the current administration thought having both Arthur and Bradburn was too much.

Pakistan’s cricket went through changes. Shan Masood is the new Test captain, and Shaheen Afridi will lead in T20Is. The chief selector’s spot is empty, with Wahab Riaz in contention.

Pakistan heads to Australia on November 30, playing a warm-up game from December 6 to 9. The tour starts with a Test in Perth on December 14.

Team Pakistan Tour Schedule:

Pakistan’s Tour of Australia:

First Test: December 14-18, Perth Stadium

Second Test: December 26-30, MCG

Third Test: January 3-7, SCG

Pakistan’s Tour of New Zealand:

January 12: 1st T20I, Auckland

January 14: 2nd T20I, Hamilton

January 17: 3rd T20I, Dunedin

January 19: 4th T20I, Christchurch

January 21: 5th T20I, Christchurch

In Conclusion , Mohammad Hafeez assumes dual roles as Pakistan’s team director and head coach for Australia and New Zealand tours. Changes in leadership follow Babar Azam’s resignation. Cricket Board (PCB) restructuring includes new captains. The team gears up for the tour starting December 14, marking a pivotal phase in Pakistani cricket.
