Namibia Cricket Announce Squad for the T20 World Cup 2024
Gerhard Erasmus has been named captain of Namibia’s squad as the country reveals its 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Erasmus is set to lead a squad that went unbeaten at the last year’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier. He will be aided by the vice-captain JJ Smit.
Out of the 15 members in the squad, 12 are from the Qualifier tournament, Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Pikky Ya France, and Shawn Fouche are the three players that have been dropped from the squad.
The three have been replaced by players who were part of the U19 squad of Namibia for the U19 Cricket World Cup and they are Dylan Leicher, Ruben Trumpelmann, and Jack Brassell.

This will be Namibia’s third T20 World Cup appearance and they are grouped with Oman, Scotland, Australia, and England in Group B.
The team is set to play its first match against Oman in Barbados on June 2.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to start on June 1st in the USA with the first match between the first-timer hosts and Canada.
The entirety of the tournament will be hosted by the USA and the West Indies. This will be the USA’s first time hosting an ICC event and the second time the West Indies will host a T20 World Cup.
The ICC has also advised the teams to announce and finalize their squads by May 25th as no changes will be accepted after the date. If a team will need to make some necessary changes then they will have to get it approved by ICC first.
