Legendary Grizzlies Player Backs Ja Morant Return with Strong Message
The Memphis Grizzlies legend Tony Allen was interviewed by Kelly Iko of The Athletic where the former praised Ja Morant and expected the latter to perform well in his second season. Allen also had the focus on Morant ability to reassume the position of one of the best players of the NBA.
“Two things. First, many men have earned attention because of him,” Allen responded to Iko. “He is still part of the players who can be associated with the face of the league. He is like a force that enjoys the league. I think he is a superstar and you need to watch him on TV.
Ja Morant’s Motivation
Allen also noted that Morant has spent a lot of time away from the floor, and that helped him build rage to come back. “I believe this summer it shows that this is one of the biggest for him; this is gonna add a lot more fuel to the flame, you know, because you see a lot of cats getting notoriety now, which, you know, was his element of fame.”
Allen notes that judging from Morant’s experience, the young star as he is, has transformed. “He benefited from many things that he has done in his earlier years of basketball play. Eventfully, this is the opportune moment for him to return, come back with the best handle, and better jump shot, and steer his team to the path of championship triumph.
Supporting Cast
Allen also highlighted the Minnesota Timberwolves Morant and teammates Jackson Jr. Desmond Bane Marcus Smart, and Derrick Rose. “There are tools in the formula and has them around him … the vets, it’s almost like having Derrick Rose,” Allen said about the team and the 9th pick in the draft that remains beneficial to have.
Morant played only nine games last season due to a shoulder injury after returning from a 25-game suspension. Despite these setbacks, Allen is confident that Morant will take the league by storm. ‘This is the return year of Ja Morant to take the league back by storm.’
Tony Allen’s comments set high expectations for Ja Morant’s return, positioning him as a pivotal player for the Memphis Grizzlies. With the right support and improved skills, Morant could indeed reclaim his spotlight and lead his team to new heights in the upcoming season.
