The Lahore franchise was the second most expensive PSL team (after the Karachi Kings, which were sold for US$26 million) when it was sold to the Kausar Rana Resources Private Limited Company for US$25.1 million over ten years. Lahore Qalandars was at the top of the points table in the last two seasons of HBL-PSL. Both times, they won against Multan Sultan in 2022 and 2023. They are the first team to win two seasons of the PSL consecutively.

Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead for the third time. Under his leadership, Lahore won the PSL trophy in 2022 and 2023. In PSL 9 as well, Lahore Qalandars will be led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, a platinum-category player who is gearing up for a thrilling Season 9.
Haris Rauf is also in the squad of the Lahore Qalandars. He will also be the brand ambassador and contribute his superb bowling abilities. David Wiese and Sikandar Raza are two players in the Diamond category who are expected to contribute significantly on and off the field.
