Jokić Secures Fourth All-NBA First Team Honor

The NBA revealed today that Nikola Jokić, center for the Denver Nuggets, has been selected for the All-NBA First Team by media votes. Jokić is the sole Nuggets player to receive All-NBA First Team recognition four times and has now been selected for an All-NBA team in six consecutive seasons, setting a new record for the franchise.

Jokić, who is 29 years old, finished another remarkable season by achieving a feat that hasn’t been seen since 1961-62 when Oscar Robertson accomplished it: averaging 25 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists in a single season. At the beginning of this month, he earned his third MVP title in his career, making him the ninth NBA player to achieve this feat at least three times in history.

Jokić Record-Breaking Season

In 79 games (starting each one), Joker maintained averages of 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game while playing a career-high-tying 34.6 minutes. This was instrumental in the Nuggets matching their best franchise record of 57 wins. He made 58.3% of his shots, 35.9% of his three-point attempts, and averaged 1.37 steals per game. He was selected for the sixth time in a row to participate in the All-Star game, marking his fourth consecutive year as a starting player in the All-Star lineup.

Jokić recorded 25 triple-doubles, just one less than the NBA’s top spot, and 68 double-doubles, the highest number of double-doubles in a single season in the history of the franchise. He has now achieved over 20 triple-doubles in back-to-back seasons, joining Robertson, Westbrook, and Chamberlain as one of only four players in NBA history to accomplish this feat. Jokić ended the season with 708 assists, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain’s record for the most assists by a center in a single NBA season and placing him second all-time for center assists.
