Jason Gillespie reveals plans for observing Pakistan’s domestic circuit

Jason Gillespie, Pakistan’s new head coach for Test cricket has revealed some details of his arrival and activities including observing domestic cricket and players of Pakistan.

The former Australian cricketer announced plans to dedicate significant time to Pakistan, specifically focusing on domestic cricket players.

Talking to a local media outlet said that he will be spending a bit of time in Pakistan and observing players in the domestic circuit.

Jason Gillespie expressed readiness to get to Pakistan and hoped for a camp that would incorporate some fitness work and build skills for the upcoming Tests against Bangladesh.

He added that putting together what that camp looks like, and what the timeframe is, and then they will go from there.

He said that he’s really excited and looking forward to meeting all the players and everyone at the PCB.

Emphasizing the importance of preventing player burnout through workload management, Jason Gillespie, the newly appointed head coach for Pakistan’s red-ball team (alongside white-ball coach Gary Kirsten), stressed his commitment to collaborating with Kirsten on this crucial aspect.

As for the Pakistan cricket team, they are currently on a tour of England for a four-match T20I series starting on May 22nd and ending on May 30th. From there, the team will travel to the USA and West Indies for the T20 World Cup 2024.
