Ireland Cricket Announce Squads for Pakistan Series, T20 World Cup 2024
Ireland Cricket Team has announced their squad for the T20i series against Pakistan and the anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
The Irish Team will play three T20Is with Pakistan in Dublin from May 10th to May 14th.
Shockingly, Ireland’s pacer Josh Little will miss the T20i series against Pakistan due to his participation in the Indian Premier League.
Though Little is part of the squad of Ireland that will compete in the mega event next month.
Head coach of the Ireland Cricket Team, Heinrich Malan knows and understands the necessity and importance of the upcoming T20 schedule the Irish team has waiting for them as seven matches are scheduled to be played by the team before the World Cup begins.

He also acknowledged Little’s unavailability due to IPL, Malan said that the team they have picked has been tested out and observed over the last 18 months. He said the players selected have everything we wanted and Little checked those boxes too but he will likely join the team before the T20 World Cup begins.
The Irish are led by Paul Stirling who replaced Andy Balbirnie as Ireland’s white-ball captain in 2023.
The Irish are in good hands with Stirling as he has appeared in 7 editions of the T20 World Cup and the edition next month will be his 8th appearance at a T20 World Cup.
In his appearances at the T20 World Cup, Stirling has represented Ireland in 21 out of 25 matches. He is also the fifth-highest run-scorer in overall men’s T20i cricket.
The side that he will lead into the T20i series against Pakistan and into the T20 World Cup is not that different from the 2022 T20 World Cup where Ireland neat West Indies and Scotland in the first round and also shockingly beat England in the second stage of the tournament who went on to win the 2022 T20 World Cup.
