The ILT20 to face clashes with BBL, SA20 in its third season

The ILT20 has been scheduled for January 11 to February 9, 2025. This scheduling will have the league clash with the Big Bash League and SA20 League in 2025.

The dates for BBL and SA20 have not been announced but according to ESPN, the two leagues will run in the December-January window.

Another clash is possible with the South Africa team travelling to Pakistan for an ODI series before the Champions Trophy 2025 begins in Pakistan. The series will stop top players of South Africa and Pakistan from participating in the league.

The BBL suffered a loss of overseas players last season when the ILT20 started. The BBL management for the next season has adjusted and made arrangements beforehand to stop the same from happening.

The Australian players are scheduled to play a Test against India and then two Test tours of Sri Lanka scheduled for January. The players won’t even have time to play the BBL except for three matches and, understandably, no one will have the energy left to participate in the league.

CEO of ILT20 David White has said that the January-February window has turned out to be quite crowded but this is the most suitable window they could find for and schedule the ILT20 in.

The PSL has been pushed forward for the April-May window in 2025 to avoid clashes with the BBl and SA20 as it was a very crowded time to conduct a tournament and have all world-class players at the disposal of the franchises.
