The NBA 2K25 Summer League tips off in Las Vegas at 3 p.m. CDT Friday, with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic leading the charge. Over the next 11 days, 30 NBA teams will showcase their young talents, draft picks, and hopeful prospects across 76 games.
Kira Lewis Jr.’s Road to Redemption
Among those vying for a standout performance is former Alabama guard Kira Lewis Jr., who now represents the Houston Rockets. After a promising start with the New Orleans Pelicans as the 13th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Lewis’ career hit a roadblock with a significant knee injury in December 2021. Since then, he’s battled to regain his form, having played just 53 games post-injury.
In the 2023-24 season, Lewis faced further challenges, being traded twice—first to the Toronto Raptors and then to the Utah Jazz. His journey culminated in becoming an unrestricted free agent after the Jazz chose not to extend a contract by June 29.
