Pakistan’s team management has released fast bowler Hasan Ali from the T20I squad to focus on his county cricket commitments.
Originally selected as injury cover for Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali’s release suggests a change in Pakistan’s plans. Now that the final squad is set and Rauf is likely healthy, the team management has freed Hasan to pursue other cricketing opportunities, likely in county cricket.

Ali has been part of the Pakistan cricket team on and off for a few years now. He has been dropped due to injuries or because of poor performances.
His most notable career development came in 2017 when he was selected in the squad for the Champions Trophy 2017 and helped Pakistan lift the trophy with his outstanding bowling performances in all the matches. He was awarded the Player of the Tournament and bowler of the Tournament trophies.
