Gautam Gambhir wants KKR to get the most titles in IPL history
The MI and CSK have the most number of titles in the league
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) dominated the 17th edition of the IPL. They soared through the group stage, finishing first and securing an early spot in the finals.
KKR then became champions, defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a thrilling final match. This victory marked their third IPL title.
The team bolstered their squad before the tournament, with the most significant move being the return of legendary Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir as their mentor.

Fueled by Gambhir’s guidance and a dominant IPL 2024 win, the Kolkata Knight Riders set their sights even higher.
Gambhir, the 42-year-old mentor, outlined their ambitious goals for the upcoming season: to dethrone Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings as the most decorated team in IPL history.
“We are still two trophies away from MI and CSK. I am content today, but we are still not the most successful IPL franchise. We need to win the tournament three more times, which will require much effort. Our next mission is to make KKR the most successful team in the IPL. There will be no better feeling than that. But, the journey towards that has only begun,” Gambhir said.
Gambhir also talked about the ecstasy of winning an IPL event and reaching the knockout stages. He explained how winning the event makes one feel delicious about themselves.
When you head into the IPL, your first thought is to reach the playoffs. When you are close to the playoffs, think about the top two. When you reach the top two, you want to get to the final and then you want to win it. There has been excitement, challenges, and nervousness at every step,” the KKR mentor said.

“Today, sitting at home, I am a delighted man. IPL is such a league where you cannot take any team lightly. It’s such a high-intensity tournament that when you win it, you start feeling really good about yourself,” Gambhir concluded.
It should be noted that reports are coming in of Gambhir being appointed as India’s next head coach after Rahul Dravid leaves the seat.
