Australian Skipper, Mitchell Marsh not feeling right but will be in time for the T20 World Cup 2024
Newly named Australian Cricket Team captain, Mitchell Marsh confirms that his recovery from the hamstring is not fully right but will be in time for the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. He has also said that his injury was taking longer than usual to recover but he is now recovering from it rapidly.
Marsh procured a hamstring injury during the Indian Premier League representing Delhi Capitals and had flown back home to Australia for rehab and rest on April 12th since then he has not played a single match but he has been working with Australia’s physiotherapist Nick Jones who is based in Perth like Marsh.
It was two weeks later it was announced by DC that Marsh would not be available for more matches in the league as his injury had been taking longer to recover.
Marsh has said that his hamstring is good and he is recovering well. He added that everyone wants to get it right over the next three weeks and get on the plane for the World Cup in June.

Talking about the Australian squad announced for the T20 World Cup 2024 and important players that had to be left behind, Marsh has said that for a World Cup team selection, they can only pick 15 players and some players have to miss out unfortunately but still he thinks they have got a good squad that has a lot of versatility and a lot of experience.
Other than Marsh, veteran David Warner has been a cause of concern after he bruised his finger deeply while playing against the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL on April 12. He had to miss a game and then returned to play against his former team Sunrisers Hyderabad and again felt discomfort in his finger. He has not played a game since.
Australia’s chairman of the selection committee George Bailey has said that the bruising is still causing Warner a bit of discomfort and it is being monitored. They are hoping that he can recover and play more in the IPL but it is probably going to take more time to settle and recover.
He added that no one is going to give a specific time period for his bruising to get completely fine.
Mitch Marsh has been adamant about having David Warner in the team as he has announced retirement from his long international career in Test and ODI cricket.
“It’s been a long last hurrah, hasn’t it for Davey?” Marsh said.
He added that Warner brings a lot of expertise and skills to the team and we are all glad to have him with us in the squad.
The Kangaroos will face Oman in their first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 10th at Kensington Oval Barbados.
