Season 9 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will begin on February 17 with famous singer Ali Zafar making a song the country-wide anthem.

Famous Pakistani singer Ali Zafar plans to return as a countrywide singer for the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This development follows a few days ago Cricket Pakistan announcement that suggested Ali may return to sing the anthem PSL 9. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now officially confirmed the anticipation.
The announcement that Ali Zafar will perform the PSL anthems made headlines two months ago. However, it was later reported that the singer had been fired from PCB while writing new songs. Speaking with the local media about the issue, Ali Zafar disclosed that the PCB had formally asked him to write this year’s PSL anthem. He described the surprising development in detail, stating,
“I spent two months working on it and paid for the services of musicians and music producers, and at the end, I had three different renditions of the anthem for the PCB to pick from. The PCB notified me that I cannot proceed with the anthem for reasons that I would like not to reveal at this time after one of them was completed and the release was scheduled.”

The franchise league posted a video of the celebrity performing the tune to “Ab Khel Jamay Ga,” one of his PSL anthems, on X, the previous Twitter platform.

The widely recognized celebrity also published on social media, saying, “Bilkul bajay gi. Aur stage bhi phir se sajjay ga.”
Ali Zafar sang the first three versions of the HBL PSL song “Ab Khel Ke Dikha”, “Ab Khel Jamay Ga” and “Dil Se Jaan Laga De”. The supporters were quite appreciative of the above anthems.
Whether the PSL 9 Anthem will be a solo or duet has not yet been determined Also, the PSL 9 Anthem release date isn’t clear, but with 14 days left for the grand launch, a good deal-awaited Anthem might be released.
Despite that excellent overall performance, the singer was replaced by other well-known artists like Atif Aslam, Ali Azmat, Fawad Khan, Aima Baig, Asim Azhar, Naseebo Lal, Shae Gill, and Young Stunners. 2018 was a career setback for Ali Zafar, who performed musically for the first three seasons of the HBL PSL. Meesha Shafi, a fellow vocalist, accused Zafar of harassment. His career was hit due to the incident, and he was never selected to perform the PSL anthem again. But this year marks a big comeback for the singer as he prepares to hit the stage again as the official song of PSL Season 9, which kicks off on February 17.
